As each month passes, I keep asking myself how could it be that my baby is getting so big, so fast?
At your 4 month appointment you weighed 15 pounds, 3 ounces (50th percentile) 26 1/2 inches tall (95th percentile).
You nurse four times a day and get a 7 ounce bottle at night.
This past month you helped me celebrate my first mothers day. I'm looking forward to many more to come.
You discovered your toes.
You rolled over front to back.
You are actually quite the wiggle worm. In the mornings your head is usually on the other end of the crib than we layer you down on. I'll attribute your dexterity to sleeping swaddle free these days.
Dropping the swaddle... I didn't realize dropping the swaddle meant restarting sleep training. Actually you still sleep through the night like a champ. We've actually moved your bedtime from 7:30 to 6:30. You sleep for 13 hours at night, waking between 7 and 8 in the morning. I miss you at night, so I do what any good mom would do and watch you on the baby monitor---all night!
We had some serious struggles with napping without the swaddle. I have been so torn with how to approach your naps, dreading the screams that would sometimes follow me laying you down. Our compromise is me sitting in the glider while you fall asleep In your crib so you can see me. Fewer tears for James makes a much happier mommy.
You are so so happy and spend most of your day screeching in delight and laughing! I love having fun with you.
With all the cool toys you have, your favorite thing is you burp cloth, you would play with one all day.
I unknowingly posted a picture of you giving Facebook the bird, but you were so cute, I didn't take it down.
You have so much fun meeting people, you haven't met a stranger.
We've been going on lots of walks and you have fun running around town with me.
You love taking baths every night.
Your Nanny came to visit and you had so much fun with her.
You LOVE your daddy. When he comes home from work you get so excited. He makes you laugh so hard and loud.
You also took your first trip with me and daddy to NYC.
We spend a lot of time singing and reading together. Your favorite song right now is The Wheels on the Bus. I've made it into a hybrid of the wheels on the bus and old McDonald had a farm. A favorite line is the monkeys on the bus go ah ah ah.
It's fun being silly with you!
You have times of the day you talk nonstop and others you just stare at everything around you in silent amazement.
Daddy calls you Coo Man and I, my sweet boy.
Being your mother is truly an adventure. Your laugh and smile instantly make me forget how overwhelming things can get. I can't wait for all the fun that lies ahead!
